The MA420 is purpose-designed for widely available 15" short-shaft propeller outboards, with 20–30 HP ideal for many recreational applications and up to 40 HP maximum power.

For Ontario lake and cottage boating, conventional propeller outboards offer an excellent combination of:

Anti-Surge Raised-Side Transom™

15" Short-Shaft Convenience with Smarter Stern Protection.

A conventional 15" transom creates a relatively low opening at the stern.

The MA420 takes a different approach.

The central motor mounting area retains the correct height for a 15" short-shaft outboard, while raised reinforced aluminum sections on both sides of the motor help reduce water entering from the stern during deceleration, following waves, and choppy conditions.

The reinforced aluminum structure provides:

• Heavy-duty motor support

• Raised side protection

• Increased transom rigidity

• Improved stern protection

• Integrated hardware mounting areas

It delivers the practical advantages of a short-shaft outboard without simply making the entire stern low.

That's why the MA420 uses 1.6 mm Armor TPU™ protection across the high-wear bottom surfaces, rather than relying only on a narrow centre keel guard.

Armor TPU™ protects:
